Where´s Superman?
(SPOILER ALERT!)
I don’t
know about you but the last movie of Superman, doesn’t quite fit. I ask where
he is because I saw him in only bits and pieces. (When he saves every kid on
the bus or the guys in the oil refinery at sea)
Not in
its fullest. Not the Superman I wanted to see. Its 2013.
I think
everyone that loves Superman already knows his origins, why he has 3 names (Clark
Kent, Kal-el and Superman)
Who´s his
greatest villain & what´s his day job.
I hate
watching mixed films in one (AVATAR with MATRIX or Independece Day with GATTACA)
Jor – El flying
with a beast?
Babies
breaded in little aqua pods?
Reproduction
is illegal in Krypton?
There is
no right way to do a Superman Movie because you cannot please everyone. FACT.
But you can still try giving us something new or that we haven´t seen yet.
In this
last movie Superman is full of doubts( I think it’s a way to connect with young
audiences) But we are talking about Superman.
Why does
he scream in anger when he kills Zod? He died like Bane on the Dark Knight
Rises. You build up this Biggerthanlife SUPERVILLAIN. And like that… he´s gone.
It´s as
stupid as Darth Vader screaming “Nooooooo!!!” In Episode 3
Why does
he hesitate his every move?
Superman
is a superhero. He is our Champion! Needs no sidekick.
Why DC even
bothered copying Marvels The Avengers and Thor´s destruction scene of a small
town?
Why?
INDEPENDENCE
DAY ripoff (YOU ARE NOT ALONE) jamming all of earth´s transmitions to deliver Superman????
I loved
all the flashbacks (Ridley Scott´s Robin Hood or Gladiator TYPE )but they
should push us forward instead of (Army welcoming ALIENS) MARS ATTACKS! Tribute
middle part.
Anybody
else noticed no President of the U.S.A. on the movie?
Every decision
was made by the army?
Superman was
HOPE, is HOPE & forever will be HOPE.
I would’ve
liked to see a more complex Superman an older one more interesting. Not a one
dimensional character.
Someone
so special, so strong and powerful.
Should
have no doubts and that s what makes him an Alien.
Basically
We want
to see him fly!
The essence
of Superman lies on a scene where no dialogue is spoken.
When a
young red caped Clark and his dog are enjoying the wind.
That’s it
Not the
ILM special effects, not the explosions, not the logo or the suit nor the alien
invasions.
Every kid
dreamed to fly away
That´s
Superman.
I´m a big
fan of comic books and one that helped me understand the importance of
narrative intelligent storytelling was Superman´s Death.
From the
initial pounding of Doomsdays fists in darkness.
To Kal
El´s lifeless body in the remains of a city.
Who can
kill Superman? That is the question. And that is the movie I would rather see.
In DC´s official
website under characters there is a brief synopsis of Doomsday.
“On one dark day, the planet wept as the
World’s Greatest Super Hero fell. No one will ever forget the day that Superman
died. Nor will they forget the name of the monster responsible—Doomsday. A
creature whose rampage of destruction and violence could only be stopped when
the Man of Steel made the ultimate sacrifice.”

The most important work about art and life was written by himself?
“4 people are sitting around in a table talking about baseball,
Suddenly a bomb goes off!!!
Blows the people to smithereens
What does the audience have? … 10 seconds of shock
Now, Take the same scene AND tell the audience there is a bomb under that table
And it will go off in 5 mins The hole emotion changes
You got the audience working they don´t care about baseball
NOW The bomb must never go off
You work that audience into a state and then they will get angry because you haven’t provided any relief”
Alfred Hitchcock
I get mad when I see bad movies because it’s not the money they’ve spent but the opportunity to make a film is one in a million and blow it away making shit. It’s really upsetting to me.
If you don’t have a unique, bright, exquisite story and the only thing you do is copy someone else’s movies…then don’t do itIf its what’s in your heart do it, but do your homework!
As a teacher in college told me “Hitler didn’t made his homework and lost to Russia the same as Napoleon, because he didn’t do his homework”
See a lot of movies see as many movies as you canSo that you don’t make the same old mistakes
Know how to get rid of your favorite scene if it doesn’t give anything to the story. Make us think new don’t feed us the same old clichés. Read a book. Play a videogame. Make coffee. See a comic book. Paint. Play an instrument. Don´t do anything if its meaningless to you! It’s a story worth telling to you
Find yourself. As Kawanabe Kyōsai did .

Will he ever return?
That is the question… (SPOILER) At the end of the 1960 movie H.G. Wells' The Time Machine with Rod Taylor. George Welles the main character has disappeared. GONE. Traveled back to the future. But he took with him 3 books…
Which books would you have taken to educate a new society? Asked my dad to me.
My dad always taught me and my brothers to see any kind of films but he started by the classics .
Before Brando or De Niro or Pacino…
In the same generation of Heston and Olivier
If I had to tell anyone how to begin to see movies I would recommend the movies of
4 actors I admire.
One played Hamlet, one played Sherlock Holmes, one played Captain Nemo & one played The Invisible Man
Claude Rains
Basil Rathbone
James Mason
John Gielgud
Take a look at 1938´s The adventures of Robin Hood or 1954´s 20,000 leagues under the sea, 1939´s The Hound of the Baskervilles or 1980´s The Elphant Man and you will understand what was acting. What a Movie was. Not just selling tickets.
