The Value of Delivery?

When you play a good man,
try to find out where he is bad,
and when you play a villain,
try to find where he is good.
Stanislavski, 1889.

I´ve never been an actor or tried any acting lessons.
But from what i´ve seen, heard and learn to appreciate:
Acting is a form of art and it derives from the lines of Literature.
Tragedy, comedy, poem  or  sonnet … if anything is worth telling
It´s in books that you have to study and learn from elders.
The old fashioned way.

For me the best plots are the ones I can´t recall so much. Shakespeare and Cervantes are two master craftsmen devoted to one religion. WRITING. Every 10 or 20 years there should be an exercise of repeating or remaking good books into good movies. So audiences from different generations could easily compare Laurence Olivier to James McAvoy. Every time you step foot outside of a movie you should, I think, have coffee and talk about the movie, what was that? H ow it made me feel? I was hoping for a different ending? We should be striving and hungry for feed back.  The more you see the more you can compare.
But I also believe in spontaneous combustion, the idea of someone who just starts playing piano, no lessons, no teacher  just some one who knows he felt like playing.
Maybe some one who hasn´t been born yet will make a GREAT movie or write THE PERFECT novel or begin to play an instrument to become a LEGEND Without anyone interfering. No LEARNING PROCESS of any kind.
I love having the possibility of seeing old movies and new movies.… “You don´t get anywhere until you make a decision “ Martin Scorcese

Stanislavski 1889

“What's My Motivation?”

“What's My Motivation?”Character is based on motivation, but it also needs a setting
Good, bad or just weird ...a character is based on his or her past experiences .It has influenced him and molded the clay of its craft to the point of today.

"Within this scenario?"
For me it´s getting early somewhere and seeing the place alone. No talking or disturbing. A perfect peaceful world. No chaos in early.

In almost all movies the director takes you somewhere empty or without people, before any dialogue. Establishing Scenario as there is establishing characters.
Scenario is the where and the where is a key element in storytelling. Every Scene on a screenplay or script begins with that. Where are we?  Ever noticed how many wet streets on movies? it appears as it if just rained...Do an exercise... go anywhere early and just move your sight as a camera would, watching people beginning their daily routines, walking sneezing or just waiting for the red light,

but do it listening to Patrick Cassidy´s "Vide cor Meum"
Born in Ireland. He received a Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics from Limerick University, and supported his early compositional activities with a day job as a statistician.
we are always expecting the director to answer all our questions

We treat movies as doubts when in fact they are journeys & directors are storytellers. we should first listen and admire peacefully before expecting anything.
